At first glance, the Ember temperature-control mug sounds like a godsend – especially if you’re a caffeine addict like me.
What?! A coffee mug that will maintain my preferred level of temperature for my hot beverages for an hour? Sign me up!
However, like most things in life, if it sounds too good to be true – look into it.
So what’s the problem??
The Ember mug actually does a descent job with temperature control. What they seemed to have overlooked is the durability of the material they use for the mug.
If you look over reviews of this mug you will see that after prolonged use, the ceramic will start to peel off into your beverage!

This problem probably could be fixed if they decided to use a more durable material for their mugs. However, it looks like the company is making no effort to remedy this situation.
Despite the heavy use of positive press releases, the negative reviews keep coming in. So beware of all the good PR out there about this mug. It’s not as great as they tout.
So what seemed like an amazing product, and still is an amazing concept, the Ember brand falls short of what is promised.
Don’t buy this mug unless you want to eat bits of ceramic.
